Last Minute DIY Easter Baskets

What do you do when the Easter bunny is under a "Stay-at-home order"? Seriously, how many other mom's are kicking themselves right now that "stocking up" didn't include a huge Easter basket haul. All venting aside this Easter bunny had some serious crafting to do and very limited supplies. Taking my cue from the Victorian Era, which is the pinnacle of paper crafting in my humble opinion, I created these quick and easy Easter baskets.

SUPPLIES

To make your own you will need the following items:

- Three pieces of 8.5" x 11" paper with a vintage Easter design printed on it ( I searched for vintage Easter images online and printed them so that they filled the entire page)

-Thin Ribbon ( I used 1/8" wide ribbon but you can use whatever you have)

-Clear Tape

-Stapler

-One pipe cleaner

-Scissors

TUTORIAL

Begin by rolling two sheets of paper into a cone. Then tape each cone so that it remains closed and even out the top.

When you have made both cones tape the two cones together.

Next  it is time to make the handle. First insert one end of the pipe cleaner about 1 inch below the top of the cone, and twist too close. Repeat this step on the other side to form the basket.

Then cut out two small images from the third piece of paper to cover over the joint where the pipe cleaner meets the cone portion of the basket and staple it to the basket like so.

When the basic basket shape is complete It should look like this.

Now it's time to embellish it. Cut images from the third sheet of paper to decorate your basket. I like to fold some of the decorations accordion style to give it more interest and depth. Attach these with tape. Finally tie some ribbons onto each side of the basket's handle. You can even wrap some around the pipe cleaner handle as well. The end product will express your own personality but it should look something like this.

All that's left for this Easter bunny is to fill it with some candy and have a glass of wine!
